Pray for our elected officials - Maryland Catholic Conference

Pray for Our Elected Officials

The image above is of St. Thomas More,  the patron saint of politicians, civil servants and attorneys. It was taken at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore.

Join the staff of the Maryland Catholic Conference and Catholics across our state every Monday during the legislative session (mid-January to mid-April) to pray for our state's elected officials.

Follow along on Facebook and Twitter where Catholics from around Maryland will lead us in prayer, and download the prayer card here (en español).

This week, Ory Docal and Fr. Zack Crowley lead our prayer.

Prayer for the General Assembly and Governor

God of power and might, wisdom and justice,
Through You, authority is rightly administered,
laws are enacted, and judgment is decreed.

Assist with your spirit of counsel and fortitude
the lawmakers of the State of Maryland.

May they always seek the ways of
righteousness and mercy.

Grant that they may be enabled by your
powerful protections to lead our State with
honesty and integrity. Amen.

honestidad e integridad. Amen.
