About Parishes and Voter Guides
These candidate surveys are the only voter guides approved by the Maryland bishops for use in our parishes.
Parishes, as nonprofits, must comply with IRS rules. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops offers guidance for parishes.
“Voter education materials should (1) be consistent with church teaching on political responsibility; (2) cover a wide range of issues important to voters; and (3) exhibit no bias for or against any candidate or party.”
