Associate Director, Respect Life Advocacy

The Maryland Catholic Conference, which represents the public policy positions of the Church in Maryland, is seeking an Associate Director for Respect Life Advocacy, to join a close-knit, dedicated team with a passion for working toward the common good on behalf of the vulnerable in our society. 

The Associate Director will oversee state-level legislative advocacy efforts addressing public policy issues, including human rights, abortion, end-of-life care, women’s issues, human trafficking, healthcare, and issues affecting persons with disabilities.

Minimum requirements: Commitment to the Church and knowledge of Church teaching; Bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ experience in government relations, issue advocacy and strategy, or pro-life policy; excellent skills in writing, public speaking, and interpersonal relations; proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Associate Director, Communications and Outreach

The Maryland Catholic Conference, which represents the public policy positions of the Church in Maryland, is seeking an Associate Director for Communications and Outreach, to join a close-knit, dedicated team working toward the common good on behalf of the vulnerable in our society. 

The Associate Director will manage social media, website, and advocacy and outreach strategies designed to increase Catholic engagement with and awareness of state-level legislative priorities around education and family; respect life; and social and economic justice, in collaboration with the executive director and other staff.

Minimum requirements: Commitment to the Church and knowledge of Church teaching; Bachelor’s degree and at least three years’ experience in communications or public relations; excellent writing skills and interpersonal relations; proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, and social media platforms. Bilingual with Spanish a plus.
