Pope Francis wrote in his encyclical, On Care for Our Common Home (Laudato Si'), that: "Nature cannot be regarded as something separate from ourselves or as a mere setting in which we live. We are part of nature, included in it and thus in constant interaction with it."
Today, Maryland is considering a bill (SB 516) that provides much-needed reforms to how our state consumes energy and that moves us toward achieving and sustaining a healthy global ecosystem. That bill, the "Clean Energy Jobs Act" has passed the Senate, but now it is stalled in the House Rules and Executive Nominations Committee.
We need your help to tell the members of the House Rules committee to allow this bill to advance to the House floor for a vote.
Session will end at midnight on Monday, April 8, so please take time NOW to speak up for our common home and tell members of the Rules Committee that now is the time for action! Our planet cannot wait!
